This article explains how a service fee can be added to the tickets that will be sold. It is useful to know that service costs can be set at 3 different levels; at seller level, at event level and at ticket level. It is also possible to create a fee schedule, the following article provides more information about this: How do I create fee schedules?
There are three levels on which basic service costs can be set:
- Seller level
- Event level
- Tickettype level
Higher levels always overwrite the lower levels. In this way you can (for instance) set up general fees on an event level, but overwrite this fee for specific tickettypes.
Seller level
Seller level is the lowest level, this level is applied to all tickets sold (these are applied by default to every event) and also to tickets that are free.
In order to use the service costs at seller level, they must first be set before an event is created. If an event is created before this service fee is set, the service fee will not be applied to the tickets in this event.
Creating or adjusting these service costs is possible under the 'Settings' tab, where there is a tab with 'finance' where this is possible.
1. Fix ticket fees
These service costs are calculated per ticket.
2. Variable cart fee
These service costs are calculated over the entire order per ticket.
These service costs are in percentages, so it depends on the amount of service costs the customer pays.
3. Cart fee
These service costs are calculated over the entire order value.
4. Free card fee
When the value of the shopping cart after discounts is equal to 0.00, these service costs will be added to the order.
Event level
The event level is the middle level, which means that if service costs have been set at seller level, they will expire and the service costs set at event level will apply.
These service costs only apply to the event for which they are set. These can also be adjusted at the event under the heading 'charges' in the second column from the left.
1. Fixed fee per ticket
These service costs are calculated per ticket.
2. Variable fee
These service costs are in percentages, so it depends on the amount of service costs the customer pays.
3. Shopping Cart fee
These service costs are calculated over the entire order.
Ticket level
Ticket level is the highest level, which means that when this is enabled on a ticket, the service costs at event and/or seller level no longer apply to that ticket.
To set the service costs, go to the event that contains the ticket type and then go to 'Ticket Categories'. Here, click on the three dots next to the ticket type and select 'Edit'. Then go to the 'Sales' tab and scroll to the setting below.
Fixed fee per ticket
These service costs are calculated per ticket but only apply to tickets of this ticket type.
Important! When settings are set or adjusted, it is important to always click on the blue 'save' button.
